The Federal Penitentiary Service (FSIN) is a federal executive body in the Russian Federation entrusted with the execution of sentences handed down by courts. The role and place of the FSIN in the country’s law enforcement system are the subject of numerous discussions and discussions. Being one of the main bodies responsible for maintaining law and order, the FSIN plays a crucial role in the criminal justice system and has a significant impact on ensuring public safety. The article aims to analyze in detail the place and role of the Federal Penitentiary Service in the system of law enforcement agencies of the Russian Federation, taking into account its historical development, organizational structure, responsibilities assigned to it for the execution of judicial acts, maintaining law and order in correctional institutions, convenience, and assistance in the rehabilitation and reintegration of prisoners back into society. A deeper understanding of the role and place of the FSIN in the law enforcement system is necessary to ensure the effective and efficient functioning of the criminal justice system in the Russian Federation.
