The place of musical art in the modern society and the peculiarities of its research in the discourse of cultural studies

The paper highlights the issue of examining music art in the discourse of cultural studies which has become important in recent decades. This is natural, because cultural studies focuses on human activities, and musical art that is enclosed in texts, sign systems, codes, symbols, archetypes, images of culture is a microcosm reflecting the artistic universe of society. To investigate art works, the concept of cultural studies, which combines information about this phenomenon in various humanities, is introduced. On the one hand, the introduction of its branch of knowledge makes it possible to expand the scope of studying music art in social and cultural space of modern society. On the other hand, it allows one to review its content from the standpoint of postmodernism. The ideological and aesthetic nature of music art is considered to be its feature. The authors reveal that music art helps structure the cultural views, attitudes, cognitive, value, regulatory paradigms. It represents a special form of human creative activity, during which his consciousness is reflected in signs in musical compositions.
