Chekhov is one of the most popular authors of Chinese people. His short stories and dramas are still deeply loved by readers all over the China. It is Chekhov's 150th anniversary this year and we review his one-acter play «Bear», in which we interprate and debate upon the important metaphor imaginism from the aspects of cultural cognition and imagination. Consequently, Chinese readers taste again his greatness, deepness and wisdom as well as his deep-felt concern to humanism.
