The article deals with metaphors in prose works by D. Thomas. As a result of analysis of the original text of the prose works by partially sampling identified and defined the types and number of metaphors that have been used by the author. The article shows the interpretation of metaphors and their importance for the understanding of the D. Thomas' prose works.
