Metal anthropomorphic images of the Early Iron Age in Perm Kama region

Anthropomorphic images, made of bronze, occupied an important place in the Kama region arts. The first bronze figurines came from the early Ananyino cemeteries and date back to the turn of the 9 th and 8 th centuries ВС. The paper presents a classification of anthropomorphic images of the early Iron Age. The author marks four groups of images: single anthropomorphic images, including human masks and the actual figures; pair anthropomorphic images, which include figures of twin brothers and the images of mother and child; the images of riders divided into male riders on horsebacks and horsewomen on wolves; the images of idols represented by human figures with bird features (wings), as well as persons with bear traits. The author analyzes all groups and gives stylistic and semantic characteristics of anthropomorphic images. The collected data support the conclusion that the Ananyino and Glyade-novo animal styles influenced the formation and development of medieval Perm animal style.
