Representative samples of diamonds from five kimberlite pipes of the two major Russian diamondiferous provinces Arhangelskaya and Yakutiya were analyzed. There were established thirty three types of metal films as syngenetic associate minerals, which included fifteen elements (in the form of native metals and their natural alloys). New data was obtained on the existence of the remnants of metal films in the body of diamond crystals. The discovery of metal films on diamonds has a global coverage, as until present the films have been discovered on the diamonds from four continents (in Europe, Asia, South America, and Africa). The presence of metal films on flat-faced and curve-faced natural diamonds, having the same morphology and sometimes very close compound to that of the metal films Fe-Ni-Mn, Cu-Zn of artificial diamonds, reveals the process of the natural diamond formation - the growth from solid metal solution. Native metals, their alloys and intermetallides - are a new class of paragenetic associate minerals of diamond.
