S-O-S method as a basis for managing large projects

The prerequisites and theoretical foundations of the S-O-S method are shown; three groups of users are considered, which the method is aimed at; the classification of projects according to the S-O-S method is given, the signs of a large project are highlighted; the objectives of the method, the enlarged blocks on which it is based are analyzed; control modules are studied in detail; 11 tasks-areas are presented, including definition and verification of project conditions, contract management, definition and verification of the project organization, personnel management, communications management, project planning and control, requirements and change management, risk management, quality management. 13 factors of the project’s success are reflected, forming the basis for determining its current status (clearly defined project goals; fully defined usefulness and profitability; involvement of interested parties; minimum, stable project volume; robust contract terms; support from the management of the organization; competent project manager; qualified and motivated project team; balanced combination of internal and external employees; involvement of end users; reliable estimates and plans; adequate methods, procedures and tools; standardized, proven technologies); typical questions are given for each of the factors, the answers to which allow you to assess the status of the project.
