Statement of the problem. The relevance of the research is due to the need to search for effective methods for formation of written competence among university students of non-philological departments in higher educational institutions in accordance with modern requirements of the digital educational space. The purpose of the article is to present a characteristic of the methodological system for formation of written competence among university students of non-linguistic specialization on the basis of a differentiated approach in the condition of digitalization of the educational university space. Research methodology is based on a practice-oriented approach, including methods of analyzing specialized literature and normative documents, analysis of scientific publications and educational experience in the field of the formulated problem; competence-based, and differentiated approaches providing students with the position of an active subject of the educational process and helping to focus attention on characteristic features of written and verbal competence among students. Research results. The developed methodological system has been introduced into the educational process of the Andijan State University for Uzbek first-year students of non-linguistic departments. As part of the experimental work, the organizational and pedagogical conditions for the formation of written competence among university students of non-linguistic specialization have been identified and tested.
