The article presents the features and the authors’ model of informatics competency for Bachelors in Physical Education. Some teaching methods of developing the bachelors’ informatics competency in computer science disciplines are discussed. An optimization approach to educational process in sports higher schools leading to developing informatics competency of Bachelors majoring in Physical Education is considered.
