Methodological and procedural problems of conducting a forensic auto-technical examination

The problems of auto technical expertise should be considered taking into account its features and the specifics of applying the expert’s knowledge. Determining the speed and trajectory of vehicles on the brake track has a significant drawback - it is possible only under the condition of braking. The existing method of determining the speed is imperfect. The Russian Federation has developed and is implementing a system for determining the speed of collision participants based on the finite element analysis method, but it does not solve all the problems. The priority of solving problems depends on the degree of complexity of the problem and the need to take comprehensive technical and organizational measures aimed at creating conditions for improving the effectiveness of expert research.
