Methodological basis for developing self-control in primary school children

With the implementation of Federal State Standard of Primary Education the problem of self-control development becomes extremely important for schools, because of the requirements to "portrait of a graduate from primary school". This article presents the results of use the technique for developing self-control in primary school children; based on the analysis of psychological and pedagogical sources we have formulated the definition of "self-control". It is noted that development of self-control will be successful subject to the described pedagogical conditions. Taking into account data obtained during the study on the reasons of self-control low level among primary school children we have presented the technique based on gradual formation of self-control and characterize each stage of work. The examples of forms, tools, methods and techniques of work with teachers, primary school pupils and their parents, which contribute to development of self-control in primary school children, are given.
