This article describes the effect of the use in the training process of qualified athletes specializing in short-distance running of metered hypoxic effects. In this study, we attempted to develop a methodology for the use of hypoxic effects in the training process of sprint runners. The study of the effect of a targeted impact on the respiratory system of the sprinter runners made it possible to establish that the indicators of the recovery processes of athletes return to their original state faster than when breathing under normal conditions. An analysis of the dynamics of two key indicators reflecting recovery processes, such as blood pressure and heart rate among skilled sprinters of the control and experimental groups as a result of training under conditions of artificial hypoxia, showed that the recovery rate is higher for athletes of the experimental group than for athletes of the control group. The use of artificial hypoxia in the training process increases the level of functional fitness of athletes, indirectly affecting their physical condition and competitive result.
