The research problem and the rationale for its relevance. The article considers the problem of organizing additional professional education and methodological work as a factor in the development of professional skills of teaching staff. Based on a number of sources, the concept of methodological support for teachers and its application in the context of the implementation of the project ‘School of the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation’ is considered. The goal of the research is to identify the impact of managerial decisions made based on the results of self-diagnosis within the framework of the project “School of the Ministry of Education of Russia” on the development of professional skills of teachers of a general educational organization. Methodology. The deficits affecting the quality of teachers' professional skills are identified and described on the basis of self-diagnosis. Management decisions that allowed to eliminate the causes of insufficient work on the development of professional skills of teaching staff of the general education organization were developed, presented and adopted.
