The work deals with the experience generalization of surgical treatment for Baker cysts, which accompany gonarthrosis, in 72 patients at the age of 8-74 years. The cyst was a result of bursitis in 6% of cases, it formed owing to synovitis for gonarthrosis in 82% and it was considered as ganglion in 12% of cases. Radical removal of the cyst as well as hermetical suturing of its ostium is of great importance for the prevention of recurrence development. At present the technique (worked out by the authors) of hydraulic preparation with colour contrasting of the cyst cavity is used at the centre's clinic to facilitate determination of the borders of the cyst and distinguishing all its camerae. The use of this technique has allowed to decrease recurrence percentage and also obtain positive results of treatment in 93, 8% cases.
