The methodology of directed asymmetric power impact in sprinters' training

Бесплатный доступ

This study offers a training methodology for training sprinters. A principle of directed asymmetric power impact (DAPI) on lower limbs in natural conditions of high-speed running is at the core of the methodology. The authors offer to apply a weight on a non-dominant leg for doing exercises during running workouts. The use of the above-mentioned methodology to train an experimental group of sprinters in Siberian Federal University for 11 weeks contributed to the modification of rhythmostructural (RS) running characteristics, «speed barrier» overcoming and the improvement of seasonal rates at a 50 m distance. Thus, time rates increased by 0,4 s, stride frequency increased by 0.04 Hz, stride length increased by 0,09 m. However, stride quantity decreased by 1,3 units.
