Based on the method of functional conversion of random variables, a method has been developed for estimating the density of distribution of fluctuating radiation intensity of a transmitting laser at the input of the receiver, which allows to optimize the divergence angle when getting into communication, taking into account the accuracy of laser beam aiming and the fluctuation characteristics of laser radiation.
