The article is devoted to the significance of the mathematics Olympiad among students of secondary vocational education. The problems that currently exist in the organization of preparing students for mathematical olympiads are identified. An example of experimental work is given, which allows to determine the group of students with whom you can organize preparation for mathematical olympiads.
