Methods of detection and clarification of robbery and theft

It is a general assessment that in today's global economic crisis, certain crimes, especially property-related offenses are getting increased. It is clear that poverty is a serious criminogenic factor in this form of criminality. In this sense, the crimes of robbery and theft belong to the group of offenses against property despite the fact that in their qualified forms, as a consequence, there appears a serious bodily injury or deprivation of life of a person. This legislator's view is justified because the primary goal in the aforementioned criminal offenses is obtaining a financial gain, but not the deprivation of life or grievous bodily harm. In this paper, the authors will make a short review of the concept and characteristics of criminal offenses such as robbery and theft, with a special emphasis put on the methods of detecting and resolving the previously mentioned criminal offenses.
