Greco-Roman wrestling is characterized by high physical activity with the maximum manifestation of muscle strength, speed of movements, endurance and other motor-coordinating qualities during their implementation in conditions of tough confrontation. Competitive activity in Greco-Roman wrestling takes place in the zones of maximum and sub-maximum intensity, which causes significant tension in cardiovascular and respiratory systems, as well as the system of acid-base balance of the blood. The article offers theoretical and experimental substantiation of the role and place of physical training in increasing the effectiveness of competitive activity among combatants. In the course of the pedagogical experiment, the specific methodology was developed on the basis of the purposeful development of motional-coordinating qualities. The authors found out that the level of formation of such qualities has a significant effect on the increase in the indices of physical and technical readiness of combatants.
