Problem and purpose. The paper considers the problem of setting and implementing laboratory works on the course of physics with elements of scientific research in conditions of a differentiated approach to training. The purpose of the article is to substantiate the formulation and development of a methodology for conducting laboratory works on physics with elements of research oriented toward implementing a differentiated approach to training. The methodology of our analytical work consists in a deductive generalization of literary data and personal experience on the use of scientific elements in laboratory works and the implementation of a differentiated approach to teaching students. Results. The article deals with methodological approaches to conducting classes with laboratory works in university, their value for future professionals. The article describes the technique of carrying out laboratory works on physics with elements of research, based on the differentiated approach to training, gives the examples of laboratory works on physics with different degrees of complexity and argues their effectiveness. Conclusion. The global task of higher education is the formation of independent, highly qualified specialists in the areas of training. To do this, it is necessary that the student was able to transfer the skills of logical and scientific thinking that they acquired in the performance of laboratory work to other activities. The student will strive to transfer the acquired knowledge and skills, if he gets an intellectual pleasure from the scientific approach and if he is aware of the need for the study material in further education at the university and in the future professional activity. According to the authors, laboratory works with elements of scientific research are one of the most effective methods for achieving this goal.
