Subject of the article: Formation of verbal competences of students of the technical university. Object of the article: Analysis of the development of verbal competence of first-year students of the technical university. Objective of the work: determination of the level of development of students' verbal competences in the process of their professional training at the university. Results of the work: the analysis of the research shows that the majority of students of the technical university have an insufficient level of development of verbal competences, which complicates their communication both in the educational and professional environment. The main problems are poor proficiency in professional vocabulary, poor structuring of oral statements, as well as the inability to effectively express their thoughts and ideas [6]. Scope: the results of the work can be used in the field of higher education for the development and implementation of new training programs aimed at training future specialists, as well as in assessing the quality of education and the effectiveness of educational programs, allowing to optimize the learning processes and increase the competitiveness of graduates.
