Methodological convention during the revolutionary transformations in physics

The paper presents the description of the conventional property of scientific cognition. The author supposes that the convention is all that is accepted as a result of the agreement between some scientists, including methods, the system of symbols, hypotheses, theories, "ethos" of science, the system of values, functions of scientific cognition and presentation of scientific authorities. The article offers the analysis of the convention based on the demarcation of the subject and object of the agreement; the author offers the classification of the scientific conventions. The subject of the convention is a group of scientists who participate in a convention or accept its result as a given. The object of the convention is a piece of scientific knowledge and the process of its acquiring or phenomenon concerned with the science as social institute which is accepted as an agreement.
