This paper is devoted to the research of methodological foundations of studying the readiness of a future teacher to research training of junior schoolchildren. The paper analyzes the relevant literature, studies the main approaches to determining the readiness of a future teacher to conduct research work with junior school students. Important aspects of the study are the analysis of factors affecting teacher readiness, as well as the identification of needs in the professional training of future teachers in this area. The results of the work will make it possible to determine the key competencies and knowledge necessary for the successful implementation of research education in junior high schools, and to develop recommendations for the formation of future teachers' readiness for this type of educational activity.
