Methodological bases of social adaptation study

The article deals with the relevant issues of social adaptation study. Its objective is to consider theoretical and methodological bases of social adaptation in the modern society. The author discusses difficulties connected with definition of the social adaptation concept, examines its basic types and forms, as well as gives a retrospective analysis of Russian and foreign conceptions of social adaptation prevalent in the modern humanities. Prospective areas for further research of this subject are defined.
