Methodological features of assessing the impact of innovation on the effectiveness of the regional economic system

In times of global transformation of socio-economic development processes, the construction of innovative economy based on the use of advanced technologies and the development of knowledge-intensive production sector comes to the forefront. The achievement of sustainable development is possible only by forming a system of relationships and rational resource provision at the regional level in order to optimize the processes of integrating the country into the international economy. The economic system of each region as a set of interrelated elements is able to adapt and respond to the actual “challenges” of external and internal environment. The creation of the mechanism of innovative development of the region is closely related to the need to form a system of indicators that reflect the degree and nature of the impact of innovation. The author analyses existing methodological aspects of assessing the impact of innovation on the effectiveness of the regional economic system. An analytical strategy based on the analysis of Russian and foreign theoretical and methodological sources on the topic with the use of methods of analysis and synthesis, comparative-analytical and abstract-logical methods was used for the research. Non-regulatory suggestions were formed about expediency of modernization of methodology of innovations influence estimation on efficiency of economic system of the region. The scientific novelty of the study lies in the generalization of deficiencies used in the Russian and foreign approaches to the assessment of regional innovation systems, as well as in the formation of proposals for leveling the identified shortcomings.
