The article is devoted to the analysis of existing methodological approaches in the scientific field to the study of the interaction of large business organizations and public authorities. The paper examines the rela-tionship between the positions of various scientific approaches, namely elitist, group, institutional and network, regarding the problem of business structures’ access to decision-making centers and their implementation of influ-ence. Particular attention is paid to the study of the principles that form the main directions that determine the choice of justifications for understanding, classifying, evaluating, and research methods within each of the areas of study of the interaction of business organizations and government structures. The relevance of the article is due to the role played by modern business corporations in politics, and the need for scientific study of complex issues of interaction between government and business in the modern world, as well as the need to find tools for studying these processes. The article aims to demonstrate the breadth of the spectrum of studying the interaction of large business organizations and public authorities that are developing in the context of changing institutional, social, and economic environment of society.
