The article attempts to reveal the basic methods and techniques for the formation of elementary mathematical representations. Numerous experimental studies have shown that the choice of method is important to take into account the content of the knowledge generated. Thus, in the formation of spatial and temporal representations the leading methods are didactic games and exercises. When familiarizing children with the form and size, along with various playing methods and techniques, visual and practical ones are used.
