Methods and results of pustovoit’s works on breeding of grain crops

The information about Pustovoit’s works on breeding of grain crops in period 1912-1935 is expounded. Lines and cultivars of winter and spring wheat, winter and spring barley, winter rye, com and millet created by Pustovoit or with his participation are described. It is shown that the breeding methods he used in all cases were adequate to the biological peculiarities of concrete plant species of field crops, complex of abiotic and biotic conditions of cultivation areas, requirements to the quality of yield.
