Methods of Studying Creative Spaces in the Context of Forming the Cultural Capital of Residents of a Modern City

The article presents the results of the project “Art management in creative spaces”, implemented by Murmansk Arctic University in 2024 in order to study the experience of creative spaces in Saint Petersburg. The methods of collecting data from objective observation, analysis, and comparison of the individual experiences of informants and established theoretical concepts made it possible to identify the features of Saint Petersburg’s creative spaces and their contribution to the formation of the cultural capital of the city’s residents. The conceptual basis of the research methodology is an approach to understanding creativity, creative industries as a dynamic part of cultural capital, in this context, creative spaces become a point of growth for social changes of the current and subsequent generations. Creative spaces have the property of multifunctionality, contributing to the formation of the cultural capital of the city as a set of cultural values and resources.
