Methods of teaching of foreign languages in the Russian educational system (end of XIX - beginning of the XX century)

The article describes retrospectively the evolvement of teaching methods applied to foreign languages in Russia. It presents a brief overview and the analysis of basic teaching methods applied to foreign languages: through translation and direct immersion.
