The work gives the analysis of national systems for fire risk assessment in Russia and abroad. The author has considered the approaches to the fire danger assessment applied to vegetative combustible materials (VCM), evaluation of their composition, structure, classification according to various criteria, features of the VCM mapping, and their research in the Far East of Russia. In order to prevent and predict the aggravation of pyrological situation, the author considers the behavior of the fire and its consequences using the VCM large-scale maps. The author has developed the first version of the complex estimation algorithm, which takes into account changes in pyrological characteristics of vegetative combustible materials dependent on the weather conditions.
