This article is devoted to the study of administrative, socio-psychological and economic methods of human resource management, as well as the peculiarities of their improvement. The article provides an up-to-date analysis and methods of applying these methods for the selection, management, tracking and retention of the most qualified part of employees. The leading role of methodological tools of the human resource management system in improving the competitiveness of the organization and their complex role affecting other functional areas of the enterprise, regardless of their size, is substantiated. The basic principles of development and actual adjustment of the methodological base of personnel management are defined.
