The article deals with the international legal status of the subjects of the Russian Federation, and the Republic of Buryatia in particular. The authors believe that currently the constituent entities of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Buryatia in particular, do not have full international legal personality, but the prospect of their development in the subjects of international law exists.
