International law aspects of environmental protection in the EU countries (part 2)

The industrial way of the world’s development led to the environmental degradation. At the same time the European countries first realized that the quality of life depends on favorable living environment for every human being. To avoid global environmental changes the European Union began to pursue the centralized ecological policy with the aim of pollution abatement. The paper discusses the issues of environmental protection in the countries of the European Union, the fundamental objectives of economic policy embodied in special programs (on the example of the Sixth Community Environment Action Program).
