International initiatives of the United Nations in the field of road safety until 2030

The article discusses international UN initiatives in the field of road safety until 2030. A comparative analysis of two projects was carried out: the Global Plan “Decade of Action for Road Safety 2011-2020” and the Global Plan “Decade of Action for Road Safety 2021-2030”. It is noted that the second project was developed on the basis of an integrated approach, has a clear structure, a number of components and is aimed at implementing the concept: road traffic as a “Safe System”.The positive results of the implementation in the Russian Federation of two Federal target programs designed for the periods 2006-2012 are argued. and 2013-2020, which made it possible to significantly reduce the number of victims of road accidents. Modern projects are being considered, including the NP “Safe Quality Roads”, aimed at solving national problems in the field of road safety.Conclusions are drawn about the feasibility of international initiatives and the implementation of national programs and projects in order to improve road safety and minimize social risk for its participants.
