International sport events as efficient instrument of the sport diplomacy of Russia

The article is devoted to the analysis of the soft power tools, which Russia uses in the sport diplomacy. The paper notes the importance and efficiency of international sport events, and correlation of success in sports with success in the foreign policy of Russia. The author considers the emerging risks when improving the country's sports image using the 2014-2019 doping process as an example.
