International relations of the Khabarovsk krai in the agricultural sphere in the period from 1990 to 2011

On the basis of a wide range of documents introduced into scientific discourse for the first time the regional specificity of the formation of relations in the agricultural sector of the Khabarovsk Krai with foreign countries in the period from 1990 to 2011 is being considered. The study analyzes the main directions implemented by state authorities and the emerging business structures of the region for the development of cooperation with countries of Asia-Pacific region. It was revealed that during this period, an unequal barter exchange was carried out between the emerging regional businesses and business structures in foreign countries, then attention was focused on the creation of joint ventures and enterprises with 100% foreign capital in the region. The relations in the agricultural sector, especially in the first half of the 1990s, were affected by the lack of experience on the part of domestic business circles, the difficult situation with the provision of food for the population of the region, the particular geographical location of the region, the specific nature of the environment for the development of agricultural production, and the desire of foreign partners to get a one-sided advantage.
