The article presents a thorough examination of the global landscape, encompassing the years 2016 to 2025, concerning the integration of blockchain technologies within the service sector. The following methods were employed: structural and comparative analysis, cross-analytics, SWOT, and case studies. The research materials encompass a wide array of sources, including peer-reviewed scientific publications, analytical reports from international organizations and consultancies, and industrial cases from various sectors such as logistics and supply chain management, retail and food chains, medical and insurance services, air transportation, government and education, and tourism and hospitality. The findings demonstrate that blockchain adoption is economically viable in scenarios involving multilateral interactions and low trust between participants. The implementation of blockchain technology has the potential to enhance various operational aspects of the financial sector, including the streamlining of batch traceability, the reduction of settlement and reconciliation cycles, the minimization of manual transactions, and the enhancement of transparency for both end users and regulatory authorities. The extant research has been demonstrated to be inadequate for the purpose of conducting a rigorous evaluation of the economic ramifications of implementation. The following priority areas have been identified for future research.
Services, blockchain, supply chains, logistics, distributed ledgers, consortia, pilot projects
