Interethnic relations in astrakhan region: current situation and aspects

The study discusses the main characteristics of interethnic relations in Astrakhan region. The quantitative and qualitative techniques of the social research have been employed. Having analyzed the data obtained and compared them with previous results, the author fixes the positive dynamics of interethnic relations. The main reason for this is the socialization of new generations in the local social and cultural environment as it allows migrants’ children to adapt to local social rules and traditions. In addition, the author identifies strong isolationist attitudes among the majority of the studied ethnic groups. This fact has not a direct negative impact on relevant interethnic relations. As a part of social disintegration, it may become a prerequisite for destabilized relations in the future. This information should be considered when analyzing and predicting the processes under study.
