Ethnic relations in the Krasnodar territory and the Republic of Crimea in the reflection of the youth public opinion: a comparative analysis

The research identifies the perception of ethnic relations in the Krasnodar Territory and the Republic of Crimea based on the analysis of the questionnaire results. The study focuses on the awareness of security, the attitude of the long-term residents towards the migrants, the behavior of ethnic groups. The relationship between the subjective perception of security and the perception of migration is revealed. It is concluded that the young people in the Krasnodar Territory and the Republic of Crimea have different perceptions of safety as they are integrated into the Russian state in a contrasting way. The residents of Kuban region are concerned about the economic aspects of vulnerability while the Crimean people focus on the ethnic relations in the region. The research substantiates the idea about the science-based policy of integrating Crimea into Russia by enhancing Russian civil identity, the equal dialogue between ethnic and confessional groups.
