The article deals with the correlation of Western and Russian cultures and ways of thinking by study of Dostoyevsky’s and Nietzsche’s works. Dostoevsky believed that the Orthodox idea of Christianity is the thing of the future, it must save not only Russia, but also Europe from its disastrous way of atheism, egoism and nihilism. By case study of one character of Dostoevsky, the author shows, how the writer imagined the Christian ideal of a person embraced by love to other people. It is concluded that the ethical and anthropological views of Dostoevsky perceived by European nihilism as the truth, for Dostoevsky were just a starting point of the analysis and reasoning of the idea of failure of glorification of a person.
