Interlinear sunflower hybrid Suri with tribenuron methyl resistance

Бесплатный доступ

The sunflower hybrid Suri is a simple interlinear hybrid developed as part of the breeding program for herbicide-resistant forms. The hybrid is highly resistant to tribenuron-methyl (sulfonylurea class) due to homozygosity of the Sur gene, which encodes a modified acetolactate synthase (ALS) with reduced herbicide affinity. Both parental lines (maternal VA760-sur and paternal VA384-sur) are also homozygous for this gene, ensuring stable in-heritance of the resistance trait. The hybrid Suri be-longs to the mid-early maturity group and is charac-terized by high yield (3.55 t/ha) and seed oil content (48.4%). In addition to herbicide resistance, the hy-brid is resistant to broomrape (races A-E), downy mildew (races 300, 310, 700, 710, 730) and tolerant to stem blight. The hybrid Suri is recommended for cultivation in the Sumo and ExpressSun™ produc-tion herbicide systems, which provide effective weed control with minimal phytotoxicity and herbi-cide after-effects. The hybrid is of great interest to agricultural producers in regions with high dicotyle-donous weed infestations.
