A powerful regional economic integration entity, the European Union ramps up its interregional relations dynamics while propagating global governance standards fully compatible with its strategic aspirations. Embedded in legal systems of recipient interstate associations, EU-generated normative standards are instrumental to the attaining of its geoeconomics objectives. The extended scope and outreach of proliferating EU external competences make other regional legal entities it seeks to partner to be ever more vigilant of the legal instruments and mechanisms, legal and contractual framework Brussels apply. The subsequent analysis is aimed at identifying the prevailing trends in the practice of EU interregional relations, clarifying its goals, identifying the challenges EU external competencies are faced with and consequences both for the EU and its partners. Research quest well beyond academic community on how efficient the EU external competences practice might be deemed and whether interregional partnerships are thereto conducive. The issues under consideration are analyzed from a comparative problem-oriented interdisciplinary legal perspective.
