Moscow State Pedagogical Institute of Special Education: three years of history (according to the files of the State Archive of Russia)

Based on the documentary material introduced into scientific circulation for the first time (documents from the collections of the State Archive of the Russian Federation), a reconstruction of the main moments of the history of the Moscow State Pedagogical Institute of special education (MGPDI, former Defectological Faculty of MGPI n. a. A. S. Bubnov) is proposed. The structure of the educational institution, the specifics of the teaching staff, the interaction of the MGPDI with the Scientific and Practical Institute of Special Schools and Orphanages, the role of the higher institution in the development of a methodological base for special education are described. Special attention is paid to the second half of 1941, when, in wartime conditions, the institute was liquidated and re-incorporated as a faculty into the Moscow State Pedagogical Institute.
