Mythologems of the water world in the works by V. P. Astafiev, such as the mythologem of water / river / ocean (sea) and the mythologem of fish are discussed in the article. Special attention is paid to the motif of death and resurrection. A chain of sense interaction «fish - river - nature - God» is observed.
