The article is devoted to the analysis of process of mythological justifications of global social transformations (revolutions) on the example of activity of the Soviet revolutionary elite. The October revolution is considered as the purposeful act of forming the inverted view by means of creation of the semiotic twin of actual reality when "the new world" is being built on ruins of "the old world”. Mythological plots and scenarios act as ideological justifications of this process as they answer to the political tasks most adequately. During the formation of the revolutionary mythology, two fundamental conceptual "stages" (eschatological and cosmogonic) could be distinguished. The first is associated with a block of subjects dealing with the destruction of the foundations of the previous social model, and the second - with the formation of a new political paradigm. In this case, the old "system" is positioned without any positive characteristics and therefore does not have any vital perspectives. New world, on the contrary, is full of hope and forward-looking, which is viable. Thus the problem is not only devoted to respond a number of topical issues of the recent past but to the problems of today as well.
