The mythological concept Moon is regarded in the article as a combination of archaic features that have been reconstructed on the basis of folklore and literary sources. The constituents of the concept Moon are represented in a list of theological and symbolic characteristics, hierarchal in the cultural aspect. The idea of an ambivalent character of the concept moon finds proof in the Russian language map.
