The paper deals with actual aspects of future in modern Russia that are reflected in the mirror of mythological thinking. The reconstruction of mythological structures of future understanding is equally actual for public communication and quotidian thinking. Addressing the mythological foundations of social representations and attitudes opens new research opportunities in sphere of social consciousness that are unattainable for quantitative methodologies. Real life in the transformations of social myth is urgent for Russia, as it allows to discern principal moments for building up new research strategies in the sphere of spiritual life. Meanwhile the essentials arrive only piecemeal. Myth as a way to organize social life in the modern world has lost integrity and proper practical forms of realizing, while retaining positions in modern human consciousness, actualizing archetypes of Hero, Leader, and Teacher, mythologems of Way and Justice. The representations of future are sense-generating factor for human life in every epoch. New senses are reached by constructing new myths.
