Mythologized image of moroz (frost) in Russian folklore and literature of the 19th - early 20th centuries

In this article the mythologized image of Moroz in various genres of the Russian folklore and also in V. F. Odoevsky’s, N. A. Nekrasov’s, A. P. Chekhov’s and S. A Yesenin’s works is considered. The conclusion is drawn that the Russian writers and poets relying on national mythological ideas about Moroz interpreted this character and its interaction with the human person in their own way.
