Areal movements of the population in Eastern Siberia during Postsoviet period (1989-2002)

The purpose of the article is to reveal peculiarities of migration processes transformation in Eastern Siberia in post-Soviet period. It is discovered that after the Soviet Union ''s collapse and the market reforms migration flows have been transformed in post-Soviet area which directed from the South to the North and from the northern and eastern territories to the western area. Specifics of mechanical movement of population in the researched economic region in the whole Russian context is studied, number data of migration balance in Eastern Siberia and in its regions are calculated. Peculiarities of area movements of the population in separate administrative unities of the economic region are shown and factors that influenced on the population ''s migration are defined. As a result it is revealed that enormous size of migration occurred here due to the transition of management principles to local administration of regions, districts and republics.
